Can the paint industry reverse the trend in the second half of the year?
The late market is full of opportunities
At present, the supply and demand of the paint market are weak, and prices are sluggish. However, for the later market trends, industry insiders believe that with the epidemic under control, large-scale projects will be built one after another, and the demand for paint will also increase steadily, and is expected to continue until October. On the whole, the market for paints will be expected later this year.
Industry insiders said that although the first quarter of this year is a low season for consumer building materials, coupled with the impact of the epidemic will delay demand, but overall, domestic high-speed rail, real estate projects are constantly under construction, the coatings market contains huge room for development.
It is understood that by the end of this year, the mileage of high-speed railways with a speed of 200 kilometers or more in China will exceed 18,000 kilometers. The construction of high-speed rail will definitely drive the demand for waterproof coatings, especially high-performance coatings, and will greatly accelerate the development of China's coatings industry. The economic effects of high-speed rail, as well as the construction of infrastructure such as oil and gas pipelines, cross-border bridges, transmission lines, and optical cable transmission systems have laid a material foundation for the “Belt and Road”. From the beginning, these have brought new development opportunities for the development of the coating industry.
In addition, in terms of building decoration, as people have higher and higher requirements for quality of life, the area of houses is also increasing steadily, and a large amount of paint is required for house decoration, which also brings greater support to the paint market.
New standards bring new opportunities for industrial protective coatings
Experts pointed out that protective coatings for buildings and structures are the main force of industrial protective coatings, but as of now, except for GB30981-2014 "Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Anticorrosive Coatings for Architectural Steel Structures" formulated by China, there is no domestic or foreign protective coating specifically for industrial protective coatings. Established environmental protection regulations or safety standards. According to the plan, the new standard will replace GB30981-2014, further promote the technological progress of the industrial protective coating industry and guide the healthy development of the industrial protective coating industry.
It can be seen from the comparison of the old and new versions of the above-mentioned national mandatory coating standards that the above two new versions of the standards have a wider scope of application, more subdivided product categories, stricter technical requirements, more comprehensive testing items, and more detailed testing methods. After the implementation of the new version of the coating standard, it will promote the overall structure of China's industrial protective coatings to be more optimized, accelerate the process of environmental protection, further promote the technical progress of the related coatings industry, and guide the healthy development of the coatings industry.
