Basf's herbicides Beyond and Raptor will be sold in the U.S. under the brand name Beyond Xtra

Basf's Beyond Xtra® herbicide has been registered with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is expected to be available for the 2023 growing season. Beyond Xtra® Herbicides is the combined label brand of BASF's Beyond® and Raptor® herbicides.

The two products, Beyond® herbicide and Raptor® herbicide, contain the same chemical composition but target different cropping systems. For many years, growers have been using two trusted BASF solutions for weed control, Beyond and Raptor herbicides, which provide lasting control against more than 40 hardy grasses and broadleaved weeds such as dry brome, Japanese brome, leymus chinensis and mustard. The Beyond herbicide was previously used in Clearfield® production system crops such as wheat, rice, sunflower, lentil, and canola, while the primary protected crops for Raptor herbicide include alfalfa, dry beans, and a variety of other crops.

Now, Beyond and Raptor will become a new product, the Beyond Xtra® herbicide. The new name reflects the merging of the Beyond Xtra tag from the Beyond and Raptor tags. The new product provides herbicide solutions that match the expectations of growers, who can find Beyond Xtra herbicides at the same retail locations where Raptor and Beyond herbicides are purchased. At the same time, retailers will also benefit from the simplicity of labeled crops under the same label.
