The pilot study of decanediol in NPCRIpassed the evaluation

Recently, the 200 tons/year sebacic aciddimethyl ester hydrogenation to decanediol pilot study project undertaken bySinopec Nanjing Chemical Research Institute Co.

The project completed the 200 tons/yeardimethyl sebacate hydrogenation to decanediol pilot study process package andprepared the feasibility study report for the pilot study. The projectdeveloped a continuous hydrogenation process and a special catalyst, and builta pilot plant of 200 tons/year scale. The results of the pilot study show thatthe conversion rate of dimethyl sebacate is not less than 99.5%, the selectionrate of decanediol is not less than 97%, and the product purity is not lessthan 99.2%. In addition, the project applied for 6 Chinese invention patentsand 4 have been granted.

As a kind of fine chemical raw material,1,10-decanediol can produce a series of new fine chemical products, which canbe applied in the fields of flavor additives, pharmaceutical intermediates andhigh-performance materials, etc. The market application prospect is promising.
