Liquid chlorine leakage accident occurred in a chemical plant from Zibo Shandong

On the morning of June 6, the official Weibo of the Propaganda Department of the Linzi District Committee of Zibo City announced that at around 3 o'clock on June 6, the pipeline of a liquid chlorine storage tank of Zibo Jiweize Chemical Co., Ltd. ruptured, causing liquid chlorine leakage. The accident caused no casualties. At present, the leakage has been effectively controlled, and the relevant disposal work is being carried out in an orderly manner.

On the afternoon of the 6th, the official Weibo of the Propaganda Department of the Linzi District Party Committee once again issued a message saying, "As of 16:00 on June 6, Zibo Jiweize Chemical Co., Ltd. has introduced all the fire spray water in the process of chlorine gas leakage treatment into the enterprise accident. The emergency pool shall be discharged into the sewage treatment plant after being up to standard; after continuous monitoring of the ambient air in the surrounding villages and residential areas of the accident by the environmental testing department, no chlorine gas or hydrogen chloride gas will be detected."

Industrial and commercial registration information shows that the company was established in 1992 and is located in Ethylene Road, Linzi District. It is a privately-owned enterprise, mainly engaged in the production and sales of hydrochloric acid, chlorinated polyethylene, chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, and chlorinated paraffin. The company has been listed as a dishonest person three times.
