Ponding chemistry in the united states to increase production of foamed plastics
Recently, Shuishui Chemical said that it would invest 6 billion yen in its Michigan factory to expand the production of foam plastics. To this end, the company's American factory will add new factory buildings, increasing production capacity by about 20%. The expansion project is expected to be completed and put into operation from July to September 2024.
It is reported that the material for chemical production of ponding is polyolefin foam, which is foamed by heating polyethylene with electron beam. This material is used for industrial tape or medical devices. Shuishui Chemical said that at present, the annual capacity of its US plants is about 6000 tons, and there is still a big gap to meet the needs of industrial and medical applications.
The polyolefin foam with ponding chemistry has 8 production sites in Japan, the United States and Europe. In addition to industrial tape and medical devices, foamed plastics are also used as automotive interior materials.
