The best in history! Jordan's revenue rose 22 percent year on year to 8.7 billion yuan
Jordon, the world's leading paint company, released its 2022 annual report on Feb 14, reporting its highest sales ever in 2022, with operating revenue of 27.858 billion Norwegian kroner (about 18.74 billion yuan), up 22% from the previous year. Operating profit was 3.737 billion Norwegian kroner, up 19 percent from a year earlier.
In 2022, Jordan successfully weathered a very challenging year, with operating revenue growing 22% from NoK 22.809 billion in 2021, driven by growth in all divisions. Marine coatings made a particularly positive contribution due to the growing new shipbuilding market as well as a strong maintenance market. In the protective coatings segment, Jordan also achieved solid sales growth. Decorative paints achieved strong growth in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, making up for the decline in Scandinavian sales.
In 2022, Jordan reported a 19% increase in operating profit from the previous year, thanks to higher sales volume, higher prices and good cost control. Currency effects also played a positive role due to the weakness of the Norwegian krone.
Morten Fon, President and CEO of Jordan, said, "2022 was a challenging year for Jordan, as the company gained market share in a number of markets despite everything happening around it. Strong growth, competent employees and good cost control ensured the highest sales and best performance in the company's history."
