Ineos to build a new 250,000 tons/year vinyl acetate monomer plant
Ineos has announced plans to add a third vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) plant to increase VAM capacity from the current 450,000 tpa to 700,000 tpa. The new plant is scheduled to open in late 2025.
VAM is widely used in everyday products such as food packaging, solar panels, windshields, polarized films, adhesives and paints. In recent years, VAM demand has increased significantly to meet the global demand for solar power.
LOTTE INEOS Chemical, a joint venture between Ineos and LOTTE, has purchased additional land near its existing plant in Ulsan for a new VAM plant and has started front-end engineering design (FEED) work with LOTTE Engineering&construction.
