Recently, Mawei Customs under Fuzhou Customs seized 5 tons of falsely declared dangerous chemical "azodicarbonamide" in a shipment of goods exported in general trade.

A company in general trade to Fuzhou Customs Mawei Customs declaration export a batch of "plastic foaming agent", the composition of 25% "azodicarbonamide", 75% "sodium bicarbonate". On-site inspection personnel found that the goods for kraft paper bag packaging of dark yellow powder, because azodicarbonamide blowing agent is usually white or light yellow powder, for pure products, the appearance of yellow to orange powder, that the declared ingredients suspected, immediately sampling for inspection. Fuzhou Customs Technology Center test, identified the goods as dangerous chemicals, its component azodicarbonamide content is 100%, involving 200 bags of goods, a total weight of 5 tons. It has been handed over for follow-up treatment.

Azodicarbonamide is 4.1 inflammable solid, which is listed in the List of Hazardous Chemicals. According to the relevant provisions of the Law of the People's Republic of China on Import and Export Commodity Inspection, its implementation regulations, and the Regulations on the Safety Management of Hazardous Chemicals, the export of hazardous chemicals shall be packaged in accordance with the provisions of laws, administrative regulations, rules and regulations, as well as the requirements of the national standards and industrial standards. The consignor or his agent for the export of hazardous chemicals shall truthfully declare to the Customs and apply for the inspection of the safety characteristics of hazardous chemicals and the identification of the use of packaging containers. After passing the inspection, the Customs shall issue the Identification Result of the Use of Packaging for the Transport of Exit Dangerous Goods. Dangerous goods that use packaging containers that have not been appraised or that have been appraised as unqualified may not be exported.
