Thailand exported more than 2 million tons of rice and 3.29 million tons of cassava in the first quarter of 2023

According to Thai media, recently, the director-general of the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand Rong Long revealed that in the first quarter of 2023 (January to March), Thailand's rice and cassava exports continued to increase, is expected to export 8 million tons of rice and 9 million tons of cassava this year.

Among them, the total export volume of rice reached 2,063,927 tons, up by 18.48%; It was worth about 38.066 billion baht, up 29.26%. The important export markets are: Iraq, export volume accounted for 16.38%; Indonesia, 13.08%; America 8.62%; South Africa, 8.24%; Senegal, 5.86 percent.

The total export volume of cassava reached 3,290,000 tons, up 7.17%; It was worth about 39,982.93 billion baht, up 4.81%. Its important export markets are: South Korea, accounting for 36.43%; China, 21.39%; New Zealand, 18.32%; Bangladesh, 2.47 percent.
