Wei Mou Biology announced the completion of more than 100 million yuan D2 round of financing
Recently, Weimun Biotechnology Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as "Weimun Biotechnology") announced the completion of a Series D2 financing of over RMB 100 million, which was jointly completed by One Village Capital, Sheng Ze Investment, Sheng Yuan Zhibeng and VVB Foundation.
It is understood that this round of financing will be mainly used for several ophthalmic innovative drug clinical trials, preclinical pipeline research and development and technology innovation platform expansion. Wei Mou biological is full speed ahead in the late pipeline commercialization cooperation and industrialization prospective layout.
In addition, we plan to establish a complex preparation research institute in Ouhai District of Wenzhou City, to deepen our advantages in the field of complex preparations for the ocular surface and fundus, and to further promote the vibrant local upstream and downstream ophthalmic ecosphere. At the same time, we have set up a branch research and development institute in Hong Kong and successfully settled in Hong Kong Science and Technology Park. We actively participate in the international cooperation of universities and research institutions in Hong Kong, and promote the R&D linkage of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
At present, the company has three clinical products in its pipeline, namely VVN001 for the treatment of dry eye, VVN539 for the treatment of glaucoma, VVN461 for the treatment of non-infectious uveitis, postoperative inflammation and other two-target small molecule drugs. Among them, VVN001 is the second in the world with the same target, and has completed clinical phase II studies in China and the United States respectively. In addition to comprehensively covering the field of ocular surface diseases, we also have R&D pipelines and technology platforms for fundus diseases, including the fundus slow release pipeline for post-treatment eye/whole eye uveitis, and the dual antibody pipeline for the treatment of diabetic macular edema and diabetic retinopathy. Relevant R&D and clinical registration and application work are being actively promoted.
In the announcement, Weimuobiology said that in the future, it will continue to provide more innovative, safer and more effective treatment programs for ophthalmic clinic with a more open mind, through the combination of independent research and development and external cooperation, so as to benefit a wider group of ophthalmic patients.
