BSM recently told investors that the company's "annual production of 8,500 t/a of Pentanones project" is expected to reach the expected operational status in the first half of this year, After the project was put into operation, the new production capacity of Dimethylacetone was increased by 5500 t/a, 2-Pentanone by 3000 t/a,, Pentene by 4000 t/a, Cyclopentene by 13,000 t/a.

At present, the main products of BSM are technicals, intermediates and formulations of environmental protection, high efficiency and low toxicity pesticide Pendimethalin. BSM is the only leading enterprise in China with the ability to produce and research the whole industry chain of Pendimethalin. At the same time, relying on research and development innovation, the company actively promotes the comprehensive utilization of the by-products of Pendimethalin, using the by-products of Pendimethalin has successfully developed a full set of low-cost synthesis process of the excellent insecticide Methoxyfenozide, and successfully obtained the original drug registration of insecticide Methoxyfenozide.

The company has a relatively obvious industrial chain advantage. The company uses Ortho-xylene  to synthesize 4-Nitrate through continuous nitrification process at low temperature, and then uses self-produced 4-Nitrate to synthesize the key intermediate Amylamine of Pendimethalin. The production capacity of each intermediate can fully meet the production needs of its own Pendimethalin. In addition, the company is actively extending the industrial chain to carry out in-depth layout and development in the field of carbon five new materials. After the completion, the company will strengthen and extend the dimethyl Pentanoline product industry chain, further effectively reduce the production cost of Pentanoline, improve the company's competitive advantage, and realize the extended development of the industry chain; Narrowing the gap between China and leading countries in the carbon five industries.

In addition, regarding its acquisition of a 20% stake in GENERIC last year, BSM said that it is the leading enterprise of Pentanoline in China, and the pesticide process research and development and synthetic manufacturing business is the core competence of the company.
