Shuangxing New Materials Commences 300,000-ton Functional Polyester Film Materials Project in Suqian City

On the morning of August 21st, a groundbreaking ceremony was held in Hubin New District, Suqian City for the commencement of 10 projects, including a 300,000-ton per year functional polyester film materials project by Shuangxing New Materials. The total planned investment for these projects is 9.8 billion yuan, with four projects exceeding 100 million yuan, covering new film materials, digital technology, and other characteristic industries.

The 300,000-ton per year functional polyester film materials project has a total investment of 3.2 billion yuan and covers an area of approximately 800 acres. The construction period is estimated to be 36 months, with a total building area of about 380,000 square meters. The project will introduce one polyester device and eight polyester film production lines. It will utilize new technologies for the development and production of high-functional polyester film materials. Specific products include polarizing film release and protective film, MLCC release film, and other optical-grade polyester-based films, as well as consumer electronics process materials, solar cell backplanes, and packaging films. The project aims to achieve an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of functional polyester (PET) film materials.

It will utilize new technologies to develop and produce high-functional polyester film materials. The project aims to achieve an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of functional polyester (PET) film materials.

On December 17, 2021, Shuangxing New Materials announced that all six production lines for the "300,000-ton per year high-functional polyester film materials project," which is part of the first phase of their project for a 200-million-square-meter optical film and 500,000-ton high-functional film, have been installed and commissioned, and are fully operational.

This project is one of the initiatives by Shuangxing New Materials to establish the "Shuangxing Yangtze River Delta Million-ton Film Materials Industrial Base." The completion of the entire base is expected during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and the project under construction is one of the components of this initiative.
