Bayer and Hailir establish a comprehensive strategic relationship to deepen cooperation
In the field of agricultural plant protection, domestic and foreign cooperative innovation is not only a key driving force for the continuous innovation of technologies, products and solutions, but also an important way to meet the diversified needs of the Chinese market. On October 18, Bayer and Hailir signed a cooperation agreement, and the two sides announced the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership to promote domestic and foreign resources to complement each other, and to conduct in-depth cooperation in the fields of technical cooperation, innovative compound development, product joint registration, pesticide formulation development, product commissioning, and exclusive agent of formulation to bring more Chinese growers a richer choice of products and help China's local innovation and agricultural modernization.
On the same day, Bayer and Hailir held a strategic partnership signing ceremony at Bayer Beijing office. Hu Mengying, Chief operating officer of Bayer Cropscience Greater China, and Ge Yaolun, honorary chairman of Hailir, attended the event and signed the cooperation agreement together with senior officials of both sides. Guests from both sides also had in-depth exchanges and discussions on the rapidly changing agricultural market and technological innovation trends in China.
Mr. Alfonso Alba, President of Bayer China, said that he was very pleased to see the success of the two parties in the past cooperation, and Bayer's future success depends on how to further work closely with an excellent partner like Hailir to achieve long-term win-win results. Looking forward to the future, he expects the comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two sides to expand from China to the global market and realize the further expansion of innovative value.
Mr. Ge Jiacheng, Chairman and President of Hailir, and heads of relevant departments of Hailir introduced Hailir’s corporate overview, relevant business layout, and the prospect of cooperation with Bayer. Ge said that becoming a leader in the global agrochemical industry is Hailir’s corporate vision. Hailir attaches great importance to customer first and R&D innovation, and attaches great importance to bring value to partners and grow together. The establishment of the strategic partnership between Bayer and Hailir is a new chapter in the cooperation between the two sides, sharing common prosperity and win-win, and realizing the "community of destiny".
In the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, Bayer has pledged to support and serve 100 million smallholder farmers worldwide by 2030. To this end, Bayer is constantly expanding and deepening its cooperation with local professional partners, striving to build outstanding capabilities to provide diversified products. Through the strategic cooperation with Hailir, Bayer will be able to further expand its innovative product line and high-quality, affordable and sustainable mid-range product line, helping China's agriculture to reduce costs and increase efficiency, and serving the majority of farmers to achieve a "double harvest" of environmental and economic effects.
In addition to market cooperation such as exclusive agency, the cooperation between the two parties further involves the technical cooperation and innovative compound research and development, product registration, formula development and commissioned production, etc., which fully demonstrates Bayer's determination and confidence to deeply cultivate the Chinese market. To promote Bayer to strengthen the cooperation with local innovative enterprises, to continue to provide dealers and farmers with differentiated valuable solutions to lay a better foundation. Since then, Bayer has formed a basic pattern driven by overseas Bayer global patented compounds and domestic third-party innovation development. In the future, Bayer hopes to continue to expand and improve the mutually beneficial innovation cooperation "ecosystem" in China, launch more crop protection products and programs with wider coverage, and continue to contribute to the high-quality development of China's agriculture and rural revitalization.
