Wacot in Nigeria has launched Dragon Super, an herbicide that can replace the banned Paraquat

Wacot Nigeria has launched a new herbicide, Dragon Super, which is a non-selective post-emergence broad-spectrum herbicide for the control of annual and perennial grass weeds and broad-leaved weeds. It is environmentally safe and has no residue in soil, water and plants.

The head of Wacot's Agricultural Inputs Division said that Dragon Super is a long-term weed control, safe to use, and can prevent the regeneration of weeds, compared with existing herbicides, Nigerian farmers can benefit more from the use of the product, and can replace the banned Paraquat in the country, creating a new milestone in improving agricultural productivity. It also said the main challenge for farmers is weeds, which can cause yield losses of up to 90 percent if not properly managed, and Dragon Super is expected to increase yields by 25 percent. In addition, the product is resistant to a variety of temperatures, soils and has been tested on nearly 2,000 farms.
