Bohai Petrochemical Acrylate and Super Absorbent Resin New Material Project Announcement
On November 14, the official website of CNOOC Tianjin Chemical Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd. released the first environmental impact assessment information announcement of Tianjin Bohai Petrochemical Co., Ltd.’s acrylate and super absorbent resin new material project.
Project Name: Tianjin Bohai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. Acrylate and Super Absorbent Resin New Material Project
Project Overview: Tianjin Bohai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tianjin Bohai Chemical Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of 2.48 billion yuan. It is located in the Lingang Economic Zone of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone.
In 2007, Bohai Chemical Group invested 40 billion yuan to build the Bohai Chemical Park in the Lingang Economic Zone of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone. The chemical park covers an area of about 5 square kilometers. It is led by a coal gasification unit and a 600,000 tons/year propane dehydrogenation to propylene unit, and has been extended to include an annual output of 400,000 tons of ABS, 500,000 tons of styrene, and 120,000 tons of polystyrene and other production equipment.
At present, the main problems faced by Bohai Chemical Industry Park are insufficient extension of the industrial chain and large surplus capacity of public works. In addition, Bohai Petrochemical currently also has problems such as a single product structure and great influence from the market. In order to give full play to the company's advantages and promote its development, the construction unit plans to invest 225.0106 million yuan to build a new acrylic and super absorbent resin material project, using propylene produced by the company's existing propane dehydrogenation plant and methanol, butanol, isooctanol produced by other downstream companies of Bohai Chemical Group in Bohai Chemical Park as raw materials. And relying on the surplus public engineering facilities of Bohai Chemical Park, the project will produce an annual output of 29,700 tons of methyl acrylate, 34,000 tons of ethyl acrylate, 160,000 tons of butyl acrylate, 110,000 tons of isooctyl acrylate and 50,000 tons of superabsorbent resin after completion.
