Corteva launches a new insecticide, Spadin™ (Sulfoxaflor), to control aphids
Recently, Corteva launched a new insecticide SpadinTM11.7% SC (active ingredient: Sulfoxaflor) with a unique mode of action for the control of aphids. The excellent broad spectrum and residual action of this insecticide make it ideal for maintaining crop yield potential.
To ensure the robust growth of crops, belongs to the novel sulfonimide insecticides. SpadinTM has a residual control effect, so it can provide lasting protection for aphids even under harsh environmental conditions, ensuring stable control of aphids. SpadinTM has minimal impact on beneficial insects and can be used as a sustainable agricultural product that promotes ecosystem health;
SpadinTM has good environmental properties, degrades rapidly in soil and has low acute toxicity to fish and mammals, making it an excellent supplement to integrated Pest management (IPM) programmes and an alternative to other conventional pesticides.
SpadinTM is currently registered for use on wheat, and Corteva says it will expand its label to cotton, mung beans and vegetables. The insecticide is applied as a foliar spray and is available in both liquid and water-dispersed granules.
