Corteva launches New fungicide Floxcor( Fluoxastrobin )in the US

2024-02-19

RecentlyCorteva announced that it will launch Floxcor specialty fungicide (active ingredient: Fluoxastrobin) for turf and ornamental plants in the US market to expand its disease management portfolio.

Floxcor inhibits spore germination and mycelium growth by interfering with the respiratory process of plant pathogenic fungi and rapidly enters the plant interior, spreading through the plant's vascular system (including xylem), after which the plant roots absorb the active ingredient and deliver it through the xylem to stop fungal growth and prevent new infections. The product can withstand rain erosion 15 minutes after application.

Floxcor has broad spectrum activity and can control 28 leaf, stem and root diseases, including anthracnose, brown blotch, mushroom ring, leaf spot disease, pythium and snow mold, as well as Dollerspot under mild to moderate stress conditions. Used on golf courses, greenhouses, nurseries, as well as lawns and landscapes, the product is an excellent choice for basic fungicides in lawn and ornamental plant disease management solutions, and when combined with Eagle® 20EW specialty fungicides, it effectively controls the industry's most common diseases.

Floxcor will be available in the U.S. specialty lawn and ornamental market by the end of the year.

Fluoxastrobin is a third-generation strobilurin fungicide discovered by Bayer in 1994. As a new type of endobactericide, Fluoxastrobin has protective and therapeutic effects.

Under the same conditions, Fluoxastrobin was superior to Azoxystrobin, Trifloxystrobin and Pyraclostrobin in the performance of leaf penetration, cross-layer conduction and xylem conduction. Fluoxastrobin can be quickly absorbed by plants and evenly distributed throughout the plant by transporting to the top, preventing pathogen invasion and improving plant immunity. At the same time, Fluoxastrobin has the dual properties of touch and lasting effect. In January 2017, its compound patents in major markets around the world expired.
