Chinese Glufosinate-P products are expected to land in the Australian market
The Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicine Authority (APVMA) recently issued an official bulletin, APVMA intends to approve BASF (Australia) company's application for Glufosinate-P (ammonium salt) as an active ingredient in agricultural chemicals.
Glufosinate-P (ammonium salt) is the L isomer of Glufosinate ammonium and is currently listed in the Australian’s SUSMP, classified under Class 5 Schedule 5-CAUTION. Glufosinate ammonium and Glufosinate-P are both phosphine acid herbicides with the same mechanism of action. However, unlike Glufosinate ammonium, Glufosinate-P is an endogenous conductive herbicide. Compared with Glufosinate ammonium, Glufosinate-P has more efficient and environmentally friendly properties.
Since 2018, Glufosinate-P (ammonium salt) has been gradually approved in China, and there are currently 16 domestic enterprises to obtain the registration of technicals and products, but the first BASF in Australia indicates that domestic Glufosinate-P products will also occupy the Australian market quickly in the near future.
Up to now, in addition to Meiji Seika Kaisha, Ltd., the domestic enterprises that have obtained the registration of Glufosinate-P include Lier, Yongnong, Luba, Wynca and other 16 companies, mass production enterprises are Lier Chemical, Yongnong and so on. ML registration certificate is Lier Chemical and Shandong Luba, holding formulation registration certificate enterprises are Zhejiang Tianyi, Shandong Shengpeng, Hailir, Guangxi Tianyuan and other more than 74 enterprises
