Praan Naturals introduces Tagua Seed Powder to natural ingredient portfolio
Praan Naturals introduces Tagua Seed Powder (INCI: Phytelephas Aequatorialis (Tagua) Seed Powder) as a key ingredient in its natural ingredient portfolio.
Praan Naturals Tagua Seed Powder is an environmentally responsible, natural alternative to synthetic exfoliants and skin lighteners, according to the company. It is produced from 100% pure, ethically harvested tagua seeds. The powder contains no added fillers or other materials.
Tagua seeds, also known as vegetable ivory, are considered a plant-based alternative to ivory due to the strength of the material and ivory-like texture. When ground into a fine powder, tagua seeds create a pure white plant-based exfoliant suitable for use in cleansers and exfoliants, the company says.
Anáil Moon Devī, CEO of Praan Naturals, commented: "Praan Naturals Tagua Seed Powder is a derivative (secondary) product made from the taguan seed fragments left over from the production of buttons and decorations by community artisans in Ecuador. Grinding these leftover pieces into powder ensures that none of the beneficial seed material is wasted. "
Praan Naturals' manufacturing partners support local indigenous communities, participate in Fair Trade, and are FairWild certified.
