INEOS completes acquisition of TotalEnergies Lavilla petrochemical assets

ECHEMI 2024-04-03

Ineos has completed the acquisition of Naphtachimie, Gexaro and Appryl, which were 50:50 joint venture between Ineos and TotalEnergies in La Villa, southern France.

The deal, announced in July last year, includes one of Europe's largest steam crackers with an annual output of 720,000 tons of ethylene, a 270,000 tons/year aromatics business and a 300,000 tons/year polypropylene business. A number of other infrastructure assets were also acquired, including part of Total Energies' ethylene pipeline network in France.

Ineos said it will now fully integrate the Naphthachimie, Gexaro and Appryl petrochemical operations, assets and infrastructure into Ineos Olefins & Polymers South in Lavilla, southern France. Gexaro, located at the Lavera refinery, will continue to be operated by Petroineos.

Xavi Cros, CEO of Ineos Olefins & Polymers South said: “We are pleased to have today completed the acquisition of the petrochemical assets of TotalEnergies in La Vera. This is an important step forward for INEOS’ operations in France and Southern Europe. We will now fully acquire and integrate these assets and enhance the competitiveness of our products. "
