Syensqo launches Rhodoline HBR specialty additive
Syensqo has added a new solution to its Rhodoline specialty coating additives portfolio. Rhodoline HBR was developed to phase out fluorosurfactants in architectural coating formulations.
This innovative new product helps prevent newly painted surfaces from sticking together, providing early heat block resistance without negatively impacting other properties.
"Increasing restrictions on fluorosurfactants around the world are prompting formulators to eliminate them from paint and coating systems. This often presents a difficult choice: either sacrifice the early thermal block resistance these additives used to provide , or resort to sub-par alternatives, thereby bringing Rhodoline HBR, a fluorosurfactant-free solution, is a completely new product in our portfolio to help formulators overcome this dilemma." said Pierre Hennaux, North American business development manager for Syensqo Coatings.
Rhodoline HBR ensures that the paint on newly painted surfaces will not be damaged by contact with each other.
"In all system formulations tested to date, Rhodoline HBR has demonstrated excellent coating properties, including resistance to scrubbing, bubbling or staining. Gloss and low water sensitivity are also not affected. In addition, the product has very low VOC content of less than 1% and delivers high performance at usage levels as low as 0.05%." added Linda Adamson, Technical Services Manager at Syensqo Coatings.
The product will begin commercial launch in the United States and Canada in May 2024.
