Brazil approves UPL's innovative insecticide Feroce (Acephate + Bifenthrin) for bed bug (Diceraeus melacanthus )control

2024-05-22

Recently, UPL announced that its innovative insecticide Feroce (850 g/kg Acephate + 30 g/kg Bifenthrin) has received new label approval in Brazil for the control of bed bugs (Diceraeus melacanthus).

Bed bugs (Diceraeus melacanthus), a stinging and sucking insect, are increasing in corn fields and pose a serious threat to crop growth. The launch of the insecticide Feroce is designed to help farmers effectively control bedbugs and ensure the profitability of food production in challenging climate conditions.

The insecticide Feroce uses UPL's unique Blast technology to provide more efficient and broad-spectrum pest control for a wide range of crops, including corn, cotton and tomatoes.

In addition to targeting bedbugs(Diceraeus melacanthus), Feroce has also been shown to be equally effective against Dalbulus maidis. In addition, Brazilian regulators approved Feroce for use in cotton crops to control Anthonomus grandis, Helicoverpa armigera and Spodoptera frugiperda. In tomato crops, Feroce can also be used to control Frankliniella schultzei and Myzus persicae.

It is worth mentioning that the application of Feroce insecticides is not limited to the above-mentioned crops. It is also recommended for use on soybean crops to combat Euschistus Heros and Chrysodeixis includens. In potato crops, Feroce is also used to control Diabrotica spiosa and Macrosiphum euphorbiae.
