Corteva announced the expansion of strategic cooperation with China National Rice Research Institute
Recently, Corteva announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with CNRRI. The collaboration will focus on enhancing crop protection technologies specifically tailored to Chinese rice farmers to help improve yields, farmer welfare and food security across China.
Under the renewed cooperation agreement, Corteva and CNRRI will engage in a series of collaborations to help improve the effectiveness and sustainability of crop protection technologies in rice farming, including:
Advanced herbicide research
The program will focus on the sensitivity and resistance of major weeds in China's paddy fields, and aims to adjust the new herbicide formula that Corteva will market in China to provide more targeted and effective weed control solutions for Chinese growers.
Knowledge transfer and talent training
The two sides will actively expand the scope of cooperation, hold a series of seminars and technical support meetings to impart the latest planting knowledge and practical solutions to rice farmers, and enhance the application of modern agricultural technologies. At the same time, through the long-term scientific and technological cooperation between the two sides, we will help cultivate agricultural talents.
Since 2000, Corteva has collaborated with the China National Rice Research Institute on a number of pioneering projects to advance the landscape of rice cultivation in China, among which key projects include:
Promote innovative weeding technologies
The launch of Multi-ke series products has revolutionized the rice planting management scheme and provided solid technical support for stable rice yield and increase.
Service farmers' production practice
By providing training in new technologies and applications, the collaboration between Corteva and the Rice Research Institute enables smallholder farmers to adopt advanced rice weeding programs that increase yields and reduce environmental impact.
Zheng Ziqin, President of Corteva China, said: "Rice is China's staple food, and strengthening the technology to protect and improve rice is crucial to our shared future. Our ongoing collaboration with the Rice Research Institute underscores our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions that will specifically meet the needs of rice growers and contribute to China's food security."
Hu Peisong, director of the China Rice Research Institute, commented: "Further cooperation with Corteva will benefit more rice farmers. By studying the distribution and sensitivity of rice weed species and selecting scientific and rational solutions, we have set a benchmark for agricultural innovation, combining the latest agricultural innovations with traditional practices to support the exploration and promotion of sustainable agricultural farming patterns.
