Bayer Australia is officially certified and 60 products are produced locally
The Managing Director of Bayer Cropscience Australia and New Zealand recently announced that the majority of its crop protection products sold in Australia are produced locally, demonstrating not only support for Australian farmers, but also a significant contribution to local economies and jobs.
The company recently completed a major certification process, allowing its products such as fungicides, herbicides, insecticides and plant growth regulators to display the official "Made in Australia" mark. This achievement marks Bayer as the largest global R&D and crop protection company currently licensed to use the Australian Made mark on Australian agricultural crop protection products.
Consumers will soon see the logo on Bayer products in 60 different package sizes across 35 brands. These products are all produced at the Brisbane suburb of Pinkenba, underlining Bayer's commitment to supporting local agriculture and ensuring supply chain reliability. More than 80 per cent of Australians say it is very important to them to buy products that are "made in Australia", a trend that is particularly evident in the farming community.
Bayer's quality assurance is at the heart of its brand reputation. At the Pinkenba plant, from product formulation to field management plans, the Bayer team adheres to the highest safety and quality standards. In addition, Bayer's products are certified through numerous certification programs, ensuring its leading position in the agricultural inputs market.
Innovation is another pillar of Bayer. As a global leader in R&D and innovation, Bayer has partnered with the world's leading scientists and research institutions to bring new technologies to Australian farmers for nearly a century to help them increase their yields. Bayer's Australian team is involved from the discovery of new molecules to the production of local formulation products, ensuring that global innovations can quickly adapt and serve local markets.
To further drive innovation and self-reliance in Australian agriculture, Bayer is upgrading the Pinkenba plant to increase production capacity and operate Australia's most advanced suspended concentrate manufacturing plant. This not only means that new products can be brought to market quickly, but also ensures that Bayer has the flexibility to respond to rapidly changing market conditions in Australia and the region.
