Generics dominate the top 20 pesticides by sales worldwide, with $70.2 billion in 2022
According to the latest data from the Crop Protection Federation of India (CCFI), the share of generic pesticides in the global pesticide market has reached a record high, accounting for 93% of the market share, while the market share of patented pesticides is only 7%. This data is provided by S&P Global, the world's leading agri-business analyst.

Syngenta today announced that its Posterity® XT fungicide has been made available in California for use on golf courses in the state to combat more than 20 lawn diseases, including common diseases such as fairy ring and banded sclerotial blight.

Syngenta recently announced the successful completion of the acquisition of Produtecnica, a Brazilian distributor of agricultural inputs, through its commercial platform SYNAP. Recently, Nichino Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V., a subsidiary of Japanese pesticide company Nihon Nohyaku Co., Ltd. announced the addition of Apta insecticides to its product portfolio, further enriching the company's product line in the Mexican market. The active ingredient of Apta is Tolfenpyrad, which was developed and patented by Japanese pesticides.
