Generics dominate the top 20 pesticides by sales worldwide, with $70.2 billion in 2022

 

According to the latest data from the Crop Protection Federation of India (CCFI), the share of generic pesticides in the global pesticide market has reached a record high, accounting for 93% of the market share, while the market share of patented pesticides is only 7%. This data is provided by S&P Global, the world's leading agri-business analyst.

Syngenta recently announced the successful completion of the acquisition of Produtecnica, a Brazilian distributor of agricultural inputs, through its commercial platform SYNAP. The acquisition, which was approved by Brazil's Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), marks Syngenta's further expansion into the Brazilian agricultural market

 

2023~2024 Brazil fungicide market: Prothioconazole and Tebuconazole are widely used, and multi-site fungicides Mancozeb and Chlorothalonil are in shortage

 

 According to data analysis by the Digifarmz Smart Agriculture platform, the most widely used site-specific fungicides used by producers during the 2023-2024 Brazilian crop season were products containing Prothioconazole and Tebuconazole.
