IMCD Opens Beauty & Personal Care Centres in the UK
IMCD, a leading global distribution partner and formulator of specialty chemicals and ingredients, has opened two new specialist facilities in the UK to enhance its technical services and capabilities. The Centre of Excellence for Hair Care and Toiletries, serving clients in the EMEA region, and the Beauty Studio for Skin Care, serving the UK market, have been commissioned to strengthen IMCD’s growing global network of technical support for beauty and personal care innovation.
The new facilities complement IMCD’s three existing application labs in the UK, further enhancing the company’s technical capabilities in formulation development for skin care, hair care and cosmetics.
IMCD’s Beauty & Personal Care business group is supported by a network of 21 technical centres around the world, including 13 Beauty Studios, 16 application labs and 5 Centres of Excellence, specialising in the areas of skin care, hair care, toiletries, sun care and colour cosmetics.
This global infrastructure enables IMCD to work closely with clients to co-develop custom formulations in a space that acts as an innovation incubator, providing them with cutting-edge testing capabilities and advanced product prototyping. The result is a faster time to market for new beauty products, backed by strong technical and regulatory expertise.
The new Hair Care & Toiletries Centre of Excellence, located in Milton Keynes, UK, is IMCD’s first of its kind in Europe. The state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to supporting manufacturers in EMEA region in the development of high-performance hair care and toiletry products.
In addition to the Centre of Excellence, the newly established Beauty Studio for Skin Care is designed to streamline the development process for UK customers. The Beauty Studio offers a unique service, providing pre-formulated chassis that can be customized with active ingredients and sensory enhancers. This enables beauty brands, contract manufacturers and consultants to develop new skin care products with less risk, lower costs and faster time to market.
“Our new facility in the UK is designed to strengthen IMCD’s ability to deliver technical excellence and innovation in beauty product development. Our customers can benefit not only from local expertise, but also from the full strength of our global network,” commented Dr. Laurent Blasco, Global Technical Director, Beauty & Personal Care, IMCD. “We provide our customers with access to advanced laboratories, expert formulations and the latest industry trends, ensuring they remain competitive in a rapidly evolving market.”
“Our centre’s industry-leading testing capabilities enable us to offer our partners innovative approaches. By offering faster prototype production, a wide range of technical equipment and custom support from our UK centre, we can promise our European customers faster turnaround times and custom support,” said Ana da Costa, Technical Leader for Hair Care and Toiletries at IMCD Beauty & Personal Care.
