Clariant's multifunctional additive production line landed in Hebei, China!

ECHEMI 2024-12-17

Clariant is expanding its Cangzhou production plant to produce the multifunctional additive Nylostab S-EED. Clariant and its local partner Beijing Tiangang Additive Co., Ltd. will jointly own and operate the second new production line located in Hebei Province, China. The leadership teams of both companies recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for the plant.

"We are very pleased to break ground in Cangzhou today and take our cooperation with Beijing Tiangang to a new level. Clariant's continued investment demonstrates our commitment to the Chinese market and reaffirms our strong confidence in the prospects of local industries such as textiles and fibers, automotive and packaging," said Zhigang Miao, Global Director of Clariant Polymer Solutions, Additive Polymer Solutions.

Since it was put into operation in 2021, the joint venture plant has reached full capacity, has earned a good reputation locally and has international expertise. Further growth is expected with the commissioning of the new production line.

Sandra Schneider, Head of Additives Business Unit at Clariant, Operations & Supply Chain, said: "The success of our first joint venture production site in Cangzhou has undoubtedly paved the way for our new plant today. We believe that the new multifunctional additive Nylostab S-EED produced at the new site will have a large number of applications throughout the core nylon value chain, where capacity expansion and demand are surging, especially from the textile and engineering plastics industries in China."

The new production line will be dedicated to the production of Clariant's unique multifunctional Nylostab S-EED additive. The additive is highly compatible with nylon through molecular recognition and has excellent process stability at high temperatures, thereby reducing fiber breakage during production.
