IMCD acquires Chinese food ingredient distributor Daoqin
IMCD, a leading global manufacturer/distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients, announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire China Daoqin Biotech (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., a distributor of food and nutritional health ingredients, and its subsidiaries Longyu International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and Longen Biotech (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd.
Founded in 2011, Daoqin specializes in the distribution of functional nutrition, health foods and food ingredients, providing innovative solutions to customers in the food, personal care and pharmaceutical industries through its professional technical team and laboratories. Headquartered in Shanghai, China, Daoqin has more than 20 employees and revenues of approximately RMB 122 million in 2023.
Nicky Huang, Managing Director of IMCD China, said: "The acquisition of Daoqin marks another step in our deepening layout in the food and nutrition market and broadens the scope of our life science business portfolio. The completion of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025.
