Brenntag Expands Distribution Agreement with 3M Glass Bubbles
Brennetag, a global market leader in the distribution of chemicals and ingredients, has announced the expansion of its exclusive distribution agreement with 3M for UK Glass Bubbles to France and Iberia. This evolving relationship between Brenntag Specialties and technology company 3M will take effect on January 1, 2025.
3M Glass Bubbles offer a high-performance alternative to traditional fillers in a variety of materials. These hollow glass microspheres not only reduce weight, but also provide a variety of functional benefits from dimensional stability to solar reflectivity. 3M Glass Bubbles are made from soda-lime borosilicate glass, a true glass that is inherently more resistant to water and chemicals than other hollow glass microspheres made from sodium silicate glass, also known as waterglass.
Christine Bryant, President of Global Materials Science and President of NA Brenntag Specialties, said: "3M Glass Bubbles will strengthen our specialty product portfolio in France and the Iberian Peninsula. We are honored to be trusted by 3M to represent them in these countries. Through our Innovation and Application Centers, we will provide formulation work and technical advice to customers so that they can get the most from the technical and sustainability advantages provided by 3M Glass Bubbles."
Sean Appleton, EMEA Business Leader, Advanced Materials Division, 3M Company, said: "We are pleased to expand our partnership with Brenntag. The combination of our range of innovative materials with Brenntag's extensive experience and industry knowledge will provide end users with attractive options to help them overcome a range of industry challenges such as lightweighting, heat dissipation and production efficiency."
