Sika Achieves Record Sales of CHF 2,678.3 Million in the First Quarter of 2025
Sika achieved record sales of CHF 2,678.3 million in the first quarter of 2025 (previous year: CHF 2,648.0 million). Against the backdrop of an overall market decline, Sika once again managed to achieve organic growth, with an increase of 0.9% in the first three months of the year. Sika achieved this growth despite the unpredictable global trade situation and ongoing geopolitical tensions.
Thomas Hassler, CEO of Sika, said: "In a challenging market environment, we have once again demonstrated our strength and grown against the trend. We are particularly strong in our Project and Infrastructure business areas. With a clear focus and a comprehensive product portfolio, we are committed to further growth in both areas. In addition, our proven 'Local for Local' strategy is the basis for our strong resilience, especially in times of global uncertainty and increasing trade barriers. We produce solutions and innovative products locally in our respective markets, close to our customers. In the United States in particular, we have successfully implemented this decentralized model, and now almost 100% of our products are produced locally to meet the needs of the US market. We also do this in Europe and Asia, where our local production network also provides us with a strategic competitive advantage."
Sika pointed out that trade conflicts may become protracted, thereby increasing market uncertainty. Especially in a market environment where protectionism is prevalent, Sika's long-term investment in the 'Local for Local' strategy should pay off and bring strong results.
Sika expects sales (in local currency) to increase by 3-6% in fiscal 2025. The company expects EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) to achieve excess growth and EBITDA margin to be between 19.5% and 19.8%.
