Azelis Acquires Italian Specialty Chemicals Distributor ACEF
Azelis has announced the acquisition of ACEF, a well-established Italian distributor of specialty chemicals. Founded in 1940 and headquartered in Piacenza, ACEF operates three technical support and quality control laboratories, along with a GMP-compliant facility for the production of pharmaceutical ingredients. Its subsidiary, Arda Natura, specializes in botanical extracts and other natural products.
ACEF serves over 4,000 customers across the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, medicinal products, and nutraceutical markets. Its broad product portfolio offers a strategic complement to Azelis’ value chain in adjacent end markets. This acquisition significantly strengthens Azelis’ presence in Italy and reinforces its leading position across key market segments.
Alberto Piombi, President of ACEF, and Emilio Zavattoni, CEO and Head of Administration and Finance, commented:“We recognize Azelis’ commitment to delivering high-quality solutions to its principals and customers. Joining forces with Azelis presents an exciting opportunity for ACEF. With our strong laboratory capabilities and tailored services, we look forward to integrating our talented team into the Azelis family. Together, we can leverage our combined expertise to reinforce our position as a leading distributor and deliver the best possible solutions to our customers.”
Marco Gerosa, Managing Director of Azelis Italy, added:“We warmly welcome ACEF to the Azelis Group. This partnership brings together a highly skilled technical team and creates new growth opportunities for our employees. We are committed to innovation in formulation, and ACEF’s value proposition aligns perfectly with our vision. Their product portfolio and technical know-how will enhance our presence in the personal care and herbal markets, while expanding our offering in pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals. This acquisition is another testament to our dedication to growing with our principals and delivering value to our customers.”
