McDermott Wins Up to $50 Million Offshore Contract for Brazilian Papa-Terra and Atlanta Oilfields

ECHEMI 2025-07-10

McDermott has secured a major offshore transportation and installation contract valued between $1 million and $50 million from Brazilian independent energy company BRAVA Energia. The deal covers work at the Papa-Terra field in the Campos Basin and the Atlanta field in the Santos Basin BS-4 block.

Under the agreement, McDermott will handle the transportation and installation of flexible pipelines, umbilicals, and subsea equipment for two new wells at each field as part of their respective second-phase development projects. The scope also includes pre-commissioning and onshore base support.

Mahesh Swaminathan, Senior Vice President of Subsea & Floating Facilities at McDermott, emphasized, “This award highlights the importance of subsea infrastructure in boosting deepwater production and asset longevity. Leveraging our integrated delivery model and deepwater expertise, we aim to support the Brazilian and broader South American offshore markets.”

These new wells, operated by BRAVA Energia, are central to strategies for increasing output and extending the life of offshore assets. McDermott’s track record includes the delivery of Brazil’s first dry-tree floating production system and the continent’s inaugural tension-leg platform at Papa-Terra.
