Eurofragance Invests €10 Million to Expand Its Manufacturing Plant in Barcelona
The multinational company Eurofragance has inaugurated its expanded production facility in Rubí, Barcelona, Spain. The company has invested €10 million in new facilities and dosing robots, tripling the plant's capacity and reaffirming its commitment to technological innovation, sustainable development and employee well-being.
Currently, the Rubí plant produces fragrances equivalent to half of the company's annual global production. This will allow the Group to meet the growing demand of customers in the East African market as well as in the Middle East. In addition, the expansion of the production plant also allows Eurofragance to strengthen and increase its production capacity for product categories that require larger volumes beyond fine fragrances.
"The renovation of our flagship plant, the redesign of our office spaces and new robotics technology have enabled us to triple our production capacity. The expansion of our production facilities, which covers more than 2,000 square meters, includes remodeled offices and laboratories to ensure better ergonomics and improve employee satisfaction. With our innovative approach and commitment to sustainability, we have improved the utilization of available space while creating a more modern, efficient and pleasant working environment," said Clara Mena, Chief Operating Officer.
The Rubí manufacturing plant is at the forefront of the Group's technology and is known for its high degree of automation. "This expansion has enabled us to automate 80% of our operations. This has enabled us to increase the reliability and traceability of our processes and improve the quality of our fragrances," explained Santiago Giménez, Global Plant Engineering Manager. "We have also implemented resource optimization systems, such as the use of solar panels to cover more than a third of our energy needs. In addition, we have strategic internal resources to ensure the continuity of our production processes in the event of unexpected situations."
This expansion reflects Eurofragance's strategic focus on sustainable growth and consolidates its position in the global fragrance sector. The expansion of the Rubi plant has facilitated the creation of specialized jobs such as operators, technicians and engineers, as the production process becomes more automated.
Eurofragance has created direct employment opportunities in Rubi, strengthened its partnership with local suppliers and reinforced its commitment to technical training in partnership with local institutions such as CECOT, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), the Institut Químic de Sarrià (IQS) and the Vocational Training Center.
