Nobian Becomes First European Chemical Company to Offer a Full Range of ISCC PLUS-Certified Chloromethanes

Nobian has achieved a significant milestone in its journey to provide zero-carbon products to its customers, becoming the first chemical company in Europe to offer a full range of ISCC PLUS-certified chloromethanes.

This certification underscores Nobian's commitment to reducing carbon emissions throughout the high-value chemicals value chain. The certification covers the company's full range of chloromethane products—monochloromethane, dichloromethane, chloroform, and carbon tetrachloride—as well as their stabilizers.

Markus Mingenbach, Senior Vice President of Chlor-Alkali and Chloromethanes at Nobian, said, "As a leading European supplier of chloromethanes, we are involved in a wide range of chemical value chains. I am proud to be the first to bring a fully certified, low-carbon chloromethane product portfolio to market. This complements our existing ISCC PLUS certified products, such as chlorine and caustic soda, as well as ISCC EU-certified green hydrogen. Thorsten Schulz, Global Marketing Director of Nobian Chloromethanes, added, "ISCC PLUS certification ensures that our products are produced from renewable raw materials and meet stringent environmental standards. Following successful certification, our chloromethane products can reduce their carbon footprint by 30% to 57% compared to conventional chloromethane products. This enables our customers to make transparent decisions based on independently verified data and their own product carbon footprint calculations and reduction strategies.
