Wanhua Chemical and Nippon Paint Forge Strategic Alliance on Waterborne Coatings for PU-GF Composites
On November 25, 2025, at the CHINACOAT 2025 exhibition, Wanhua Chemical and Nippon Paint (operating under its parent group, Lishi Group) unveiled a landmark strategic partnership focused on waterborne coatings for polyurethane-glass fiber (PU-GF) composite profiles—a critical segment in green building and industrial applications.
The collaboration brings together Wanhua’s strength as a global leader in advanced chemical materials and Nippon Paint’s unparalleled expertise in market insight, application development, and end-user demand analysis. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Wanhua Vice President Yuan Shuai stated, “This partnership breaks down traditional information silos and technological boundaries across the value chain. By leveraging our core R&D capabilities and stable supply network, we aim to co-build a sustainable industrial ecosystem with Nippon Paint.”
Cui Ruichang, Technical Management VP of Lishi Group, echoed this vision, highlighting that sustainability and performance are no longer optional but essential. “The market urgently demands eco-friendly, high-performance coatings,” he said. “Wanhua’s innovation capacity and raw material assurance are pivotal enablers for our next-generation product upgrades.”
The alliance will center on joint innovation, spanning co-development of waterborne coating formulations, coordinated market expansion, and collaborative standard-setting. Both parties aim to serve fast-growing sectors such as renewable energy, green construction, and advanced manufacturing, accelerating the industry’s transition toward low-carbon solutions.
Looking ahead, Wanhua and Nippon Paint will operate under the shared philosophy of “coexistence through collaboration, value through co-creation,” using technological synergy and industrial integration to unlock new dimensions of partnership—and to contribute chemical ingenuity to a more sustainable future.
