This Week's Epichlorohydrin Market Prices Rose in China (12.8-12.12)

ECHEMI 2025-12-13

December 12th, News

This week, the market price of epichlorohydrin in China has increased. According to the monitoring and analysis system, as of December 12, the benchmark price of epichlorohydrin is 11,600 CNY per ton, which is a 3.57% increase compared to the beginning of this month.

Price Influencing Factors:

Raw Materials: This week, the price of propylene—a key raw material—remained stable for now, while glycerol prices continued to decline. As a result, cost support from the raw materials side has weakened. However, given that production enterprises have recently undergone maintenance and the industry’s overall inventory has been reduced, producers are showing strong willingness to hold prices steady. On December 10, the market price in Jiangsu rose to around 11,600 CNY per ton, an increase of 3.1% compared to December 4. According to the market analysis system, as of December 12, the benchmark price for propylene stood at 6,220.75 CNY per ton, up 0.65% from the beginning of this month (6,180.75 CNY per ton).

On the demand side: The downstream epoxy resin market is experiencing weak demand, with a lukewarm trading atmosphere. Purchases are mainly driven by small, essential orders, and buyers show limited willingness to accept higher prices for epichlorohydrin, resulting in limited transaction volumes in the market.

Market Forecast: According to epoxy chloropropane analysts, support from the cost side is weakening, downstream demand remains weak, and the overall market trading atmosphere is sluggish. Epoxy chloropropane manufacturers are adopting a bearish outlook. Trading activity is subdued, with most transactions involving small, immediate-need orders. It is expected that epoxy chloropropane prices will likely remain relatively stable in the near term. Further attention should be paid to changes in raw material prices and shifts in market supply and demand.
