In the first week of February, the butanol market in Shandong, China, saw a decline from its peak.

From the commodity market analysis system, it can be seen that in the first week of February 2026 (2.1-2.5), the n-butanol market in Shandong, China, showed an overall fluctuating downward trend. At the beginning of the week, the n-butanol market was fluctuating with both increases and decreases, and negotiations within the market began to loosen. Starting from mid-week, the overall market focus shifted downward, with major manufacturers lowering their selling prices, which led to a downward transmission in the market. Prices fell to as low as 6,400 CNY/ton. As of February 5th, the reference price for n-butanol in Shandong was around 6,400-6,700 CNY/ton.

Analysis of Factors Affecting Market Conditions

Supply and demand situation is loose: After entering February, the restocking of n-butanol by downstream sectors in China is nearing its end, and overall market demand is weakening. Coupled with some large factories in Shandong lowering their quotes, the overall supply-side pressure in the market becomes evident. The slowdown in the transmission of supply and demand leads to a price decline.

Future Market Forecast

The current n-butanol market transactions have become quieter, with downstream users increasingly resistant to high prices. In the short term, it is expected that the n-butanol market price in China will mainly remain weak and consolidate before the holiday. In the long term, more attention should be paid to the resumption of work in the market after the holiday and the new round of purchasing strength from downstream users.
