April Isopropyl Alcohol Market Price Rises First, Then Falls

I. Price Trends
According to the commodity market analysis system, the isopropanol prices in April first increased and then decreased. On April 1st, the average price of isopropanol in China was 9,283.33 CNY/ton, and by April 29th, it had dropped to 8,716.67 CNY/ton, a decrease of 6.1% compared to the beginning of the month.
In April, the isopropanol market price first increased and then decreased, with an overall decline. In the first ten days, the isopropanol market price first rose and then fell, mainly increasing, supported by the rise in raw material prices, and the market transactions were acceptable. In the middle of the month, the isopropanol market price dropped due to weak terminal demand, poor new order transactions from production plants, and a decrease in quotations. In the latter part of the month, the isopropanol market in China first fell and then rose. Under the support of raw material costs, some production plants made slight increases, mostly driven by rigid demand. As of now, most quotations for isopropanol in Shandong region are around 8500-8600 CNY/ton; in Jiangsu region, most quotations are around 8800-9000 CNY/ton.
Regarding acetone raw materials, China's acetone market price in April initially rose and then fell, with an overall downward trend. On April 1, the average price of acetone was 8,012.5 CNY per ton, while on April 29, the average price had dropped to 7,737.5 CNY per ton—a decrease of 3.43%. Currently, the overall trading atmosphere remains relatively favorable, and it is expected that the acetone market will remain strong in the short term.
In terms of raw material propylene, the Chinese propylene market price fluctuated and increased in April. On April 1st, the market average was 8,784.33 CNY/ton, and by April 29th, the average price had risen to 9,351 CNY/ton, with an increase of 6.45%. Currently, as international oil prices continue to rise and propylene trading within the market is good, it is expected that the propylene market price will remain strong in the short term.
III. Future Market Forecast
The isopropyl alcohol analyst at the Chemical Division believes that the market price of isopropyl alcohol in April first rose and then fell. Currently, suppliers are maintaining a stable attitude, and downstream buyers are making purchases based on their actual needs. It is expected that, in the short term, the isopropyl alcohol market will remain stable, so it’s important to closely monitor trends in the raw material market.
