I. Price Trends
According to the commodity market analysis system, the price of isopropanol in China fell in June. On June 1, the average price of isopropanol in China was 7,683.33 CNY per ton, and by June 30, the average price had dropped to 6,191.66 CNY per ton, a decrease of 19.41% compared to the beginning of the month.
In June, the isopropyl alcohol market prices in China declined. In the early part of the month, the market was sluggish, with poor terminal demand, leading to a slight decrease in isopropyl alcohol prices. Mid-month, the price of acetone, a raw material, dropped significantly, weakening cost support, and combined with weak demand, isoprol alcohol market prices fell. Towards the end of the month, as raw material prices continued to weaken and downstream demand remained average, overall isopropyl alcohol market prices declined. As of now, most quotations for isopropyl alcohol in Shandong region are around 5900-6100 CNY/ton; in Jiangsu region, they are around 6200-6400 CNY/ton.
Regarding acetone, the Chinese market price of acetone fluctuated and fell in June. The average price of acetone on June 1st was 6,950 CNY/ton, and the average price on June 30th was 5,025 CNY/ton, with a price decrease of 27.7%. Currently, the overall trading atmosphere is moderate, and it is expected that the acetone market will maintain a small range of fluctuations in the short term.
Regarding propylene raw materials, China's propylene market prices experienced volatile declines in June. On June 1, the average market price was 9,037.67 CNY/ton, while by June 30, the average price had fallen to 7,244.33 CNY/ton—a decrease of 19.84%. Currently, cost support for propylene remains relatively weak; however, factory inventories are at low levels. Therefore, it is expected that propylene market prices will remain relatively strong in the short term.

Chemical industry analyst for isopropanol believes: Overall in June, the isopropanol market prices in China declined. At the end of the month, manufacturers' quotations slightly rebounded, with a narrow upward trend in quotation focus; actual transactions were cautious, with many adopting a wait-and-see attitude. It is expected that in the short term, the isopropanol market in China will experience minor fluctuations within a range, with close attention being paid to the trends in the raw material market.
