Chinese activated carbon manufacturer prices fluctuated and increased this month. The factory price for coconut shell water purification activated carbon (iodine value 1000) is between 11,500 and 12,500 CNY per ton, while the mainstream tax-inclusive factory price for iodine value 800 is about 9,500 CNY per ton. Overall, the price of Chinese coconut shell activated carbon is operating at a high level. Affected by the increase in raw material costs (especially imported coconut shell carbonized materials) and the demand from new energy sources (sodium-ion hard carbon), the prices of some high-end products have increased significantly.
Southeast Asian (Philippines, Indonesia) coconut shell raw material import prices are relatively high. Supplies from some production areas are tight due to weather or logistics issues, which has increased the production costs for some manufacturers in China. The demand for gold extraction carbon from mines, high-end water purification carbon, and certain new energy fields (such as sodium-ion batteries) is relatively strong, supporting the prices of high-iodine value and high-quality carbon.
Prediction: Due to cost support, the price of coconut shell activated carbon in China is expected to mainly follow a strong and fluctuating trend in the short term.
