Chinese coconut shell activated carbon manufacturer prices stabilized and strengthened this week. The factory price for coconut shell water purification activated carbon in East China is between 9,500-13,000 CNY per ton. The price trend of upstream coconut shell carbonized material (raw material) remains firm. Coupled with the recent extension of maritime shipping cycles, increased storage and environmental requirements, the import and logistics costs have risen, providing a bottom support for the finished carbon prices.
Supply-side impact: Main producing countries in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Philippines) are affected by drought and tighter export quotas, leading to a tight supply of raw materials. Some regions in China have increased production capacity, resulting in an overall market supply and demand competition, which prevents prices from skyrocketing unilaterally and leads to mainly fluctuating prices.
Prediction: The supply of coconut shell activated carbon raw materials in China is tight, and it is expected that the price of activated carbon may mainly follow a strong oscillating trend in the short term.
