Zhenhai Refinery's Annual Sulfur Production Hit A New High

In 2021, Zhenhai Refinery will process a total of 456,900 tons of acid gas and produce 343,900 tons of industrial high-quality sulfur, an increase of 54.1% and 56.06% respectively over the previous year. The annual output of sulfur has reached a record high.

Zhenhai Refinery currently has 5 sets of sulfur units, all of which adopt domestic leading technology. The company actively carries out energy conservation and emission reduction work. Through measures such as adding water coolers, online monitoring devices for flue gas emissions, and optimizing operations to improve the activity of catalysts in the device, the company produced 890,000 tons of medium-pressure steam throughout the year on the basis of high sulfur recovery rate. This year, in order to cope with the current situation of heavy production load of sour gas under high-sulfur crude oil processing, the company set up an operation research team to carry out oxygen-enriching transformation of No. 4 and No. 5 sulfur units, increasing the load of these two units by more than 20%.

Affected by the epidemic at the end of the year, the sulfur production was not smooth. The company opened the liquid sulfur solidification device in a timely manner and opened green logistics channels to ensure stable production. After the epidemic was lifted, relevant departments were immediately coordinated to clear the logistics links, so that the production, testing, packaging, loading and delivery of products were closely linked, and the output of sulfur fixation was increased from the daily 130 tons/day to 450 tons/day.
