Analysis on the Supply Structure of Phthalic Anhydride in China
From the perspective of production capacity distribution, the distribution of phthalic anhydride production capacity in China is concentrated. From the changes in the past five years, east and North China have always been the most concentrated region, as well as the downstream consumption region. The market share of East China decreased due to the withdrawal of some phthalic anhydride devices, and north China became the first production region in China due to new production capacity.
From the raw material and production process, the mainstream domestic benzene anhydride product production process is divided into two kinds, one is o-xylene as raw material to the neighbor method of phthalic anhydride production process, the other is a kind of industrial naphthalene as raw material of naphthalene benzene anhydride method production process, the current domestic adjacent benzene anhydride production capacity and naphthalene phthalic anhydride were small capacity, market shows its adjacent naphthalene and benzene anhydride foot to make the situation.
In the next five years, the capacity of phthalic anhydride products will be expanded, and the new capacity will be mainly concentrated in east China, South China and North China. The integrated development of upstream and downstream and the supporting industrial chain are the fundamental reasons for its expansion.
By 2021, the capacity of north China will account for 39.39%, east China 33.81%, Northeast China 9.71%, central China 8.81%, South China 5.76% and Southwest China 2.52%.
It is estimated that by 2023, south China will add 260,000 tons of phthalic anhydride, East China will add 50,000 tons of phthalic anhydride, southwest China will add 50,000 tons of phthalic anhydride, and northeast China will add 70,000 tons of phthalic anhydride. It is estimated that the proportion of north China's production capacity will decrease to 35.61%, East China 30%, South China 12.73%, northeast China 10.3%. Central China's capacity is 7.42% and southwest China's 3.64%.
