According to reports, on October 26, 2021, law enforcement officers of the Qiongshan Branch of the Haikou Market Supervision Administration inspected the Haikou Qiongshan Lekeke Bakery Shop located along the street of Building 30, Green Garden, on the north side of Fengxiang East Road, Qiongshan District. The operating chicken cakes are subject to supervision and sampling inspection.

On November 19, 2021, the inspection report of Hainan Food Inspection and Testing Center showed that the measured value of propylene glycol in the above chicken cake was 4.56g/kg, and the standard index was ≤3.0g/kg.

The inspection conclusion was that the propylene glycol item did not meet GB 2760- The 2014 "National Food Safety Standard for the Use of Food Additives" requires that the inspection conclusion is unqualified, and the production date of this batch of turkey cakes is October 26, 2021.

The reporter learned that GB 2760-2014 "National Food Safety Standard for the Use of Food Additives" clearly stipulates that when propylene glycol is used as a stabilizer and coagulant, anti-caking agent, defoamer, emulsifier, moisture retention agent and thickener.

The maximum usage of raw and wet noodle products (such as noodles, chaotic skin, dumpling skin, etc.) is ≤1.5g/kg, the maximum usage of pastry products is ≤3g/kg, and other products are not allowed.

Propylene glycol belongs to the low-toxicity category, and long-term excessive consumption may have the risk of causing kidney disorders.

The reason for the unqualified propylene glycol item in cakes may be that the manufacturer did not use it in excess of the limit in the production and processing process according to the national standard.

It was found out that Haikou Qiongshan Lekeke Bakery (Yang Xiao) processed and produced 18 boxes of chicken cakes on October 26, 2021, with a total weight of 2950g. At the time of on-site inspection by law enforcement officers, 15 boxes had been sold, and the remaining 3 boxes had not been sold and had been scrapped.

After receiving the inspection report, Haikou Qiongshan Lekeke Bakery (Yang Xiao) rectified the existing problems and further implemented the food purchase inspection record system. Law enforcement officers reviewed the situation after rectification, and the review results were qualified.

The behavior of Haikou Qiongshan Lekeke Bakery (Yang Xiao) violated the relevant provisions of my country's "Food Safety Law". The Haikou Market Supervision and Administration Bureau confiscated 216 yuan of illegal income and fined 5,000 yuan.
