South Korea YNCC device incident involving pure benzene upstream and downstream brief

It is reported that the YNCC plant in Yeosu, South Korea suffered a power outage on the evening of 22nd, and line 1 was not planned to stop. The plant has a total of 3 sets of ethylene cracking device byproduct of pure benzene, the accident involved device is no. 1 device.

YNCC has three ethylene cracker units in Yeosu, Korea, with an annual ethylene processing capacity of 2.285 million tons per year.

The plant has a capacity of 457,000 tons of pure benzene in Lishui, spread over three units.

The accident involved unit No. 1, with a design capacity of 162,000 tons of pure benzene and supporting downstream styrene.

The shutdown followed another incident at the plant's no. 3 unit on Feb. 11.

According to market information, Line 2 is currently operating normally.

According to market news, the current line 1 parking device is recovering, is expected to restart in the short term.
