Textiles Production Grows Stably in Xinjiang in H1 2017
In Jan-Jun, 2017, textiles production grew stably in Xinjiang according to related report. Yarn output increased by 46.6% on the year to 657.6kt, and fabric production rose by 43.2% y-o-y to 56.1620 million square meters; nonwoven fabric increased by 42.6% y-o-y to 3220.90 tons; garment production increased by 21.4% on the year to 16.2010 million pieces and chemical fiber output grew by 3.6% to 342.7kt. According to data from NBS, fabric absolute production increased by 4.4% on the year to 34.6 billion meters in China, and chemical fiber production rose by 4.8% on the year to 25590kt. Relatively, yarn and fabric production in Xinjiang witnessed faster growth than national level.
It was known that new textile and apparel companies from inland China to invest in Xinjiang amounted to around 258 by the end of 2016, and the terminal corporations involved weaving, knitting, apparel and home textile production shared above 70%.
