Saudi Arabia says crude oil production fell 660000 barrels a day
Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter, told the organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) that its crude oil production in September fell 660000 barrels per day from August to 9.13 million barrels per day due to attacks on its energy facilities. According to OPEC's monthly report, the crude oil production of Saudi Arabia in September was even lower, down 1.28 million barrels / day from last month to 8.56 million barrels / day, according to a third-party source. The attack on September 14 targeted two Saudi Aramco plants, initially disrupting half of the country's crude oil production, equivalent to 5% of global production. OPEC crude oil production in September fell by 1.32 million barrels / day to 28.49 million barrels / day. In its monthly report, OPEC lowered its forecast for the growth of crude oil production in non OPEC countries in 2020 by 50000 barrels per day to 2.2 million barrels per day, due to the lowered forecasts of Kazakhstan and Russia. However, OPEC's forecast for global crude oil demand growth in 2020 remains unchanged at 1.08 million barrels per day. OPEC lowered its forecast of global economic growth in 2020 from 3.1% to 3%, saying that the possibility of US economic growth slowing down to 2020 is increasing.
