Looking at the automotive OEM paint market from Akzo Nobel, aiside and PPG

In addition, different dynamics can be seen in each region, for example, from countries with recently increased production costs (such as Japan, South Korea, etc.) to countries with lower costs in Asia (such as Southeast Asia). In order to constantly look for opportunities to promote the development of automotive coatings industry, Akzo Nobel focuses on providing customers with additional tools and high-quality technical services to help customers develop their business. Markowich said that there is still a lot of room for growth in the Asia Pacific region, especially in China and India in the next few years. Monotonous color scheme, but with rich texture and tactile effects, such as soft touch, silk touch, etc. He also said that the intensity of light has a certain impact on the automotive OEM paint market. " Markwich said that with the passage of time, people's requirements for coating quality will be higher and higher, and environmental awareness will be stronger and stronger. Similarly, an autonomous approach requires consideration of coatings, including detectability and transmissibility. If sensors used in driverless cars can be installed behind bumpers, the coating needs to allow radio waves to travel back and forth. Customers always pursue better appearance and durability, so the future challenge is to realize the aesthetic requirements related to color, and integrate new functions into the coating. Liebert said that PPG's customers are very concerned about achieving higher efficiency and production, and reducing environmental pollution in the manufacturing process is also a key area. PPG is striving to achieve every goal in the coating process, including pretreatment and substrate protection. For example, PPG R & D and service agencies have worked with customers to increase the use of lightweight materials without compromising protection, durability or appearance. PPG has been at the forefront of the market in terms of compact processes and low curing technologies to further reduce manufacturing costs. In addition, PPG has developed a set of "safe start" agreements for new colors and other products to ensure that the chemical composition, equipment and applications are consistent with the actual situation required by each customer, thus eliminating the problems of batch adjustment and high cost.
