This is a two step reaction.

First step, you will have acetophenone.
Second step, your SM will react with acetophenone to form the product.

You should be able to draw it out.
Otherwise, you will have troubles in your exam.

What's SM?

So molecule (1) will react with acetophenone to form the product? Right thanks for the help

Your grignard starting material will react with acetophone. This is the reason it is the excess one.
