L-tyrosine is very insoluble in water/saline the maximum solution you can obtain is 2-3mM at 37C. it will go into solution with mixing. If you are doing cell culture it is best to take it up in the medium, you cannot make high stock solutions and dilute down unless you are interested in very low doses.

For future readers... L-tyrosine at 10mM concentration is water soluble when heated at 90C (I usually incubate the stock solution for one hour without shaking).

also NaOH solution works, take 10 mg of L-tyrosine and add one ml water in it. add microdroplets of conc NaOH solution till L-tyrosine dissolves , you will need to vortex

0.2 N HCl worked for me. L-Tyrosine and L-Glutamic acids were weighed 10 mg each and dissolved in 1 mL of 0.2 N HCl at room temperature. Samples need to be vortex thoroughly.

L-tyrosine solubility is lower in PBS as well as in normal saline. To improve its solubility, DMSO or 5% TFA can be used. Additionally, water or PBS with lower pH can be used.

Hello Jamie
I wonder if the insolubility is revered when shifted to lower temperature let's say 25-30 C? Thank you very much.
